Masthead: Female Strong, this represents clearly what message we are trying to get across and who our audience is just bases on the title of our magazine. 


Cover: 

  1. Main image: Collage of female athletes, creative and interestingly placed
  2. Font: Big, bold, black, Bakersfield old face 
  3. Selling line: Actions Speak Louder than Gender 


Feature Article: 

  1. Title: Ms. Air Jordan  
  2. Content: Best female basketball athletes and I will put 3 or so with pictures and facts about them. I will include what made them the best, what teams they are on, new news, interesting things and inspirational things that they have said or done that make them the best. I think I will also include text facts in shapes of a basketball throughout the magazine.
  3. Image ideas: Female basketball players in action, pictures of the hoop, pictures of the basketball


Content Page: 

  1. Styling: small, bold, black, Berlin Sans FB, picture of basketball, “content page” written at top  
  2. Title ideas: pre pro, pregame routine, practice makes perfect

Production 3- Interviewing

 I have met up with my friend who plays basketball and asked them some questions that I can include in my feature article. I asked them questions about playing basketball as a women and if there have been any unusual struggles. My friend Kenzie plays basketball and over break I met up with her to take some pictures of her in action. I asked her questions including "What is it like being a young female athlete?" and "What has been a motivation factor in your journey as an athlete?" I recorded her answers and I am going to include them in my feature article. Kenzie put on her basketball uniform so I could take some pictures of what she does. I took some action pictures and some still pictures to showcase throughout my magazine, including some simple pictures of the basketball and hoop so I can make my magazine very fun and interesting. I learned through this experience how to work professionally with someone and how I can use a camera and be creative by taking action ...

Post-Production 1- Rearranging

 After presenting and getting feedback on our magazine we decided to change some things up to make it perfect. All of our edits to our magazine took place in InDesign where we had the tools to make changes possible. We all changed the background color so that it was all blue, made sure the fonts were the same and the same color. We decided on the font Engravers MT and changed them all to a dark blue. We changed the text bubbles on the cover page to the shape of something in our sport. For example, Aidan used the ellipse tool to create circles for golf balls, I did circles for basketballs and Collin used the pencil tool to draw a ballet shoe for dance. We did the same layout for the cover page, content page and feature articles but rearranged them so that they all look similar. We took better pictures for our magazine to make them look even better. For example, we went to a field and re-did Collins dance shots but mine and Aidan's were already good for our issues. After we made all ...
